Build a Beretta

Do you know the feeling of saying to yourself one night "A Beretta is the coolest gun in the World, I'll build one of those in Lego Technics"?
Oh, you don't? But then you are probably not as gun crazed as a gentleman, who has put a description of how he constructed his gun online. It took him two hours to build the first version, and he was very satisfied with it, except that he wasn't able to rack the slide. Soon after he constructed a second version with working slide, but it still wasn't good enough, so started working on version three.
This LEGO version of the 9mm gun is almost fully working, except for the firing mechanism. It is actually so well done that the Beretta Company praise it to the skies. Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta in Italy simply calls it beautiful. An unofficial Beretta site has also adopted the gun.
The requests from people wanting to buy such a gun has been numerous which means you can now buy it complete with all 266 parts and a copy of the instructions. The instructions alone can also be downloaded for free at
Beretta 9mm.
And on the same site the same gentleman tells about the day he went another a step further and constructed an
HK MP5 submachine gun. Also in LEGO, of course. So your small nephew's Lego Technics stuff can be used for many reasonable things not mentioned in the manuals.

A huge thanks to Henrik Brix Anderson for alerting me to the publication and providing the translation. I had no idea about the article, they never even contacted me.
